As we eat so many Fig Bars, we thought it would be fun to find ways to incorporate our wrappers and bars into creative and enjoyable crafts for the whole family. We are going to start our first do-it-yourself blog with reusing our Fig Bar wrappers.
Check out how we made a festive and easy Fig Bar wreath for the holidays.
Below is the supplies list we used, but please feel free to swap for any decorations you like. The good thing about wreaths is you can decorate them your way and to your taste.
Step 1: Start on the fake pine wreath using garland, pinecones, ornaments, and other decorations. The fun part about this step is anything goes. Use decorations you have at your house or you can find them at your local craft store. We used a hot glue gun to glue everything into place.
Step 2: Grab your first Fig Bar wrapper, 4 bells and ribbon. Make sure to open wrapper on backside so there are no rips in the front. Super glue any 2 pieces of the same color ribbon to the back side of the Fig Bar wrapper. Make sure both ribbon pieces are of equal size. Super glue the 4 bells to front side of Fig Bar wrapper. Again, use your imagination and creativity to make it your own. We added the bells as it made a nice sound when you close the door.
Step 3: Grab approximately 15 Fig Bar wrappers, (don’t forget to enjoy the Fig Bars as you go!), the Styrofoam wreath, the hot glue gun and a red ribbon for extra style. Wrap each Fig Bar wrapper around the Styrofoam wreath, making sure to hot glue the backside of the wrapper as you lay it on the wreath. Continue the process until you cover the entire wreath. We overlapped our wrappers, but always leaving enough space to see the logo and most of the wrapper color. Finally, add a red bow for extra flair.
Step 4: Putting the wreaths together. Grab your ribbon and cut to size of preference for distance between the two wreaths. We were working with a larger door so we made our ribbon length longer. Hot glue ribbon to the bottom of the fake pine wreath and to the top of the Styrofoam wreath. We added the front lid of the 12-pack to the middle of our ribbon connecting the two wreaths to add a little more pizazz.
Step 5: Hang on door and enjoy!
