Well, another great summer is behind us. The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder as fall inches its way across the country. While your days of boating, sunbathing, and relaxing on the beach may be numbered, we’re actually entering into the best time of the year for cycling. Let me explain…
Bicycles can take you to some pretty amazing places all year round, but the views are always amplified in the fall. I ride thousands of miles each year around the same training loops in Reno-Tahoe, but it’s like riding in an entirely new world once fall hits.
I’ll be the first one to admit how great a long ride in the summer sun is. But with that summer sun comes more traffic on the roads than any other time of the year. As fall moves in, traffic drastically settles down on most scenic, back roads.
Fall is the time of pumpkin flavored everything, even Fig Bars! Now it might be cliché, but there’s nothing better than riding all day, then stopping at your favorite coffee shop and enjoying some kind of pumpkin spice hot beverage.
