After the a brief stop in California for the third stop of the Freeride World Tour at Kirkwood and few days back home skiing at Squaw it was time to get back on the road. I once again packed my bags and flew back over to Europe for the fourth stop of the tour in Fieberbrunn, Austria. When we were in Kirkwood we all wanted to be in Europe because the snow was just amazing then. Well, as soon as we headed back to Europe it snowed in Tahoe and became spring in Austria. This was not quite what we were hoping for.
Upon arrival in Austria we had noticed that snow conditions had changed drastically and myself and the rest of the Pro Freeride Board decided the venue was unsafe to hold the contest on the first possible day and that we should wait for the upcoming storm to hopefully help the conditions.
We've had some down days, with trips to Salzburg to see the sites and some mellow ski days in the storm.
Now it's Friday and the contest has been confirmed for the following day! I'm off to get in some final inspections in preparation for the big day tomorrow! We've had some new snowfall on top of some pretty hard snow. It will not be ideal but hopefully better than before the storm.
